In honor of Pride and Prejudice week over on Cowbirds in Love*

Me: I read that Anne Hathaway and James McAvoy are in talks to play Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
Joe: Oh, yeah?
Me: ...yeah.
Joe: Is that bad?
Me: I just...I don't know if James McAvoy is right to play Mr. Darcy.
Joe: No?
Me: I don't think he's tall enough.
Joe: Wha?
Me: In my head, Mr. Darcy is really tall and I think James McAvoy is kind of short.
Joe: Haha, is he?
Me: Maybe he could stand on a box or something.

I think James McAvoy is totally dreamy but I don't know if he's Darcy dreamy. Mr. Bingley dreamy, maybe.

*thank you, srah, for introducing me to Cowbirds in Love

  3. I feel like he's also a little young. I don't think the age difference between Elizabeth and Darcy is as significant as Knightley and Emma or Col. Brandon and Marianne, but I think there's still a difference. Let's get Clive Owen or Gerard Butler or Wolverine in there.

  4. I agree. I also am not so into Anne Hathaway, but I might be alone on that.

  6. I feel like I've said this a million times, but it bears repeating: On the press tour for Atonement -- I know, Jennie. I know -- Keira Knightley said that James McAvoy was the best kisser of any kisser she'd ever kissed. And that means he was better than Matthew Macfadyen, Ralph Fiennes, Dominic Cooper, Orlando Bloom, Johnny Depp AND Clive Owen, all of whom she'd kissed in movies by then!

  7. I don't doubt that, H!A!, I would totally make out with James McAvoy, just not as Mr. Darcy. If that makes sense. My head is weird.

I didn't mind Atonement the movie. Maybe because it took me a lot longer to read the book than it did to watch the movie, or because I already knew what happened, but I'm guessing it was cause of James McAvoy.

Is Clive Owen too old to play Darcy? For some reason, I always thought he was 28 in the book but now I have no idea where I got that. Like I said, my head is weird.
